The Sacramento High School girls soccer team suffered a tough 3-0 loss Wednesday against Citrus Hill. (0:06) Coach Walter Guzman said it's been a tough season overall. All our games have been very hard.
We've had to suffer through injuries, nagging injuries, not serious injuries, but enough to where it hasn't allowed me to feel the same 11 starters for two games in a row.Guzman gave words of encouragement to his young team after the game, and team captain Cecilia Espinoza reflected on the season with a team made mostly of freshmen and sophomores. We're already a team, and it's fresh, so it's like, we're not at our full potential, but eventually now we're at our full potential, and we're going back up to the top again.
Guzman said that the team has fought hard all season, and has faced injuries and the struggles of working with less experienced players. He is hopeful, though, that this new team will advance, and the San Jacinto Tigers will once again see better days.I'm looking forward to the next two, three years where this group of players are going to be together. It'll be a different team in the next two years.
